Nicky… who I knew from our student ministry but arranged his session via text and I had myself convinced it was a girl named Nikki . What the heck, Leslie… that made for some initial emails that made us both laugh. Clearly he’s a dude, incredibly FUN, extremely kind, and just easy to photograph. I love that often my clients are wondering what to do, but just a tiny bit of direction and then I can just capture them existing and their subtle movements turn into poses. Such was the case here. I say dumb things, I get a laugh. I reference Blue Steel, and then it all clicks. The less awkwardly and the more casually I can “pose” a guy the better. And so here’s Nicky. Looking good without even trying.
