Spring Portraits on my Birthday!

Believe it or not, today I turned 33. It just happened to be SO perfectly gorgeous outside with the spring blossoms, so on our way to dinner I insisted that we stop to capture these shots, which are now some of my most favorite images ever. We just LOVE being parents to our sweet Merritt!!

Absolutely love this one. haha. Such reality!

My heart swells… it is so full… I couldn’t love my family more!!

Seriously, Aly you are as sweet as they come!! What a beautiful Senior session (two days in a row!). Due to weather we only did one hour as scheduled and Aly met me during school the next day to capture some sunny photos (what class was she skipping? Digital Photography!!! HA!). But I love the variety that we were able to capture. She truly is as beautiful inside as she it out! Thank you for an amazing session and running around to the MOST random locations with me! Who knew that housing complex entryways were all so picturesque?! In Dallas they certainly are! :) xoxo!

SENIOR: Sara B, Dallas, TX

One of my very FAVORITE sessions of this school year! Not only is Sara absolutely stunning, but she’s got a heart of gold and is such a young woman of character and faith. I adore her! (Seriously, how am I blessed with the prettiest and sweetest girls EVER?!) You might recognize her from last year when I photographed her in a conceptual shoot (click to see PART 1, and then PART 2), so I couldn’t wait to photograh her again. And it was one of those shoots where even though going into it you feel like it has potential to bomb (the original field we were going to use had been plowed, and then the laundromat location we were using was shut down… so this shoot was totally all happening on a whim as we drove around!). Then we finished in a field that caused us both to break out in hives and rush home for the Benadryl, but regardless of that, we laughed and got some of my favorite images of the year. Great light, amazing subject, and camera settings right on… I was thrilled. So, enjoy the beauty! Love & miss you, girl!

SENIOR: Jackie, Springboro, OH

This girl = amazing! I adore Jackie! She is one of my Senior Models this year and has completely ROCKED it for me!! But aside from her enthusiasm in referring clients to me, she just radiates love and positivity! I am so grateful for her and the friendship that we have formed this year! She also took up the opportunity to shoot at the castle (the premier location that I offer clients) and it was SO amazingly perfect to tie in with her love for dance!! So after lots of time capturing her in some sunny flower fields, she was adorable and then breathtaking throughout the castle grounds. Love it!!

FAMILY: The Walker’s, Oct 2012, Dallas, TX

If you’ve followed my work then you know this family well… the Walker’s and their personality-filled, energetic, wild & free spirited daughter Campbell. I have photographed this family so many times in the past few years and they are always some of my new favorite family images. Yes, they are some of my best friends so naturally we have similar styles so I can play and experiment and style the shoot a bit more, but it’s still more so the love, laughter, and genuineness of the images that make them my favorite. Campbell’s personality is captured, I can HEAR Blake’s laughter in these photos, I can feel Megan’s intense love for her family, and now sweet baby Elim makes an entrance! So precious, and her name, straight out of Scripture, carries such significance and meaning that it makes some of these photos even more powerful to us. I adore them. Hope you love these as much as we do :)
*Oh, and one thing I LOVE is that Megan always wants the ridiculous “outtakes”, which really is capturing true personalities, the imperfect sides of what family really looks like. You’ll see Campbell being ridiculous and cute and hilarious in a few below :)

You can see ELIM in Scripture. The Walker’s story about choosing this for their daughter’s names gives me chills everytime.

Ok this one is HILARIOUS… Campbell being Campbell, and Elim with elevated legs, throwing a gang sign or something. I love it! haha!!

Another STUNNING Senior session from this summer that I can finally share with you! Chloe is absolutely beautiful, inside and out, and I absolutely mean that. I’ve known her from church through the years but never got to know her as well as this year having her as one of my Senior Models. She’s had a busy year with cheerleading for both football and basketball seasons and has always possessed a JOY, enthusiasm and pride for everything she has been involved in. It flies by SO quickly that I’m glad we were able to sneak in these photos before the year got away from us. THANK YOU, Chloe, for being incredible and for the privilege of having you in front of my camera this year :)

SENIOR: Lauren, Springboro, OH

EEK!!! I have been waiting since October to share these images! I’ve leaked a few previews here and there, but finally the entire session can be shared! Lauren is one of my Senior Models this year and decided to go all out for her personal session by using my premier location (the Castle!) as her session location. I love the variety that we got… some high fashion, some sunny and floral shots, some totally glam, and others that look right out of a catalog! Holy smokes, this girl knows how to rock the camera! Not gonna lie… I can’t take credit for all the posing here… she just kept moving and I had to snap away to keep up! This is probably an all-time favorite session. Lauren, you are absolutely beautiful and I am so grateful to have you as a model and friend this year! :) xoxo!
