Get ready to sigh, to ooh and awe, and see the most dreamy, fairytale like post on my website yet. Allison and Collin are newlyweds, and as you’ll see, one of the most GORGEOUS couples ever!! Allison contacted me about these photographs and as exciting as this session sounded, it was also bittersweet. She’s owned her beloved horse, La Dos Curenta (aka 240) for 14 years and unfortunately it became time to sell her. After growing up riding her in competitions, the regular maintenance of caring for a horse, and just loving the beautiful creature, as you can imagine, you develop a deep attachment. Fortunately the new owners are in Montana so this sweet horse can enjoy the rest of her days galloping freely out west, but it was no doubt hard for sweet Allison to say goodbye. So we enjoyed this evening on the farm in the sun together. I wanted to photograph Allison just interacting, caring for, riding, and engaging with her horse to capture their everyday relationship. However when she put on her STUNNING wedding dress combined with the white horse, I about died… such a fairytale! And then enter handsome prince charming Collin :) I’m posting a million images because it was hard to decide. The ever-changing light of the evening changes it up and makes it even more fun (& sometimes challenging) for me!
I also wanted to mention how I LOVE the idea of an after the wedding couples session. Not so much a “trash the dress”, although it would get dirty, but just giving yourself as a couple a chance to REALLY get the shots that you love. My most FAVORITE image of Todd and I from our wedding was actually after the wedding, when I put on my dress, left my hair down, and got out into a field together. Now it’s a huge canvas on my wall :) Don’t get me wrong, I ADORE everything about my wedding photos, but in some cases (as I’ve experienced with clients), the schedule is tight and photos get rushed, or you don’t get to completely photograph every pose, every prop, or every location that you had hoped for. So just an idea for all couples out there… I highly recommend an engagement session, but a few have chosen an After the Wedding Day session in lieu of bridal portraits. Did any of you see the VIDEO of the couple in their wedding attire and taking underwater photos in a cavern in Mexico?! To DIE for. Anyhow, here’s THIS stunning couple, after the wedding, and looking absolutely incredible :)
